Ken: NOVA Portrait Session

Ken was a jerk, totally uncooperative, and terribly unattractive. And if you speak sarcasm as fluently as I do, you know that I am COMPLETELY JOKING. I also told him I was going to write that, so I'm just being true to my word. Ken, you were awesome! Dude is hysterical and has a saaaweeeet ride. If car theft wasn't totally illegal, I woulda Grand Theft Auto-ed that Beemer in a heartbeat. He also introduced me to the idea of s'more as Cosi!?!? Say whaaatt? I know, I'm very excited to explore this prospect further. Ken...if you happen upon a Cosi downtown somewhere with a photog who has clearly OD'd on s'mores, don't judge ;)

We started with some more casual shots at the Iwo Jima memorial, which I had never been to before, just around sunset and the colors and light were gorgeous. After that, we headed over to the Arlington Gateway Park in Rosslyn. If your from the DC area, I'm sure you've seen it, but probably never gone in. It's a really cool little park just off the Key Bridge and overlooking Georgetown. It's beautiful during the day, but as I told Ken, it get's a little "hobo-y" at night. No hobo encounters that evening, just a great portraits sesh! Thanks Ken!

Tina Fey Punched Me in the Face...Rude.

Yesterday was my first day off for Easter break, and as so, it was my goal to do absolutely nothing. It was probably one of the best days in a while...no classes to run to, no papers due, no tests...just a day to let my mind unwind and do...nothing. Well not totally nothing, I couldn't just sit and stare at the white walls of my living room. To fill the void, I watched entirely too many episodes of 30 Rock. If ya'll have not seen this show, or have only seen a couple episodes, you really need to commit because this show is as brilliant as the hype claims. Sure the hype only comes from the Emmy committee and not from actual viewers, but it should! I laugh out loud at this show every time I watch it. I'm sure my roommates think I'm just a little more insane every time they hear me cackle from the attic, but it's not my fault that Liz Lemon gets out jury duty like this or partied sooo hard in Frankfurt.

Last summer I was sitting around a table with some friends (drinking of course) and the question "If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?", came up. I struggled then to think of anything, and eventually settled on a typical celebrity like Princess Diana or Jesus or something, but thinking now it would HAVE to be Tina Fey. Girl is unbelievable. It's always been my secret dream to write comedy and Tina is the queen B of comedy. She would definitely have to be at my dinner table. But I think I maybe watched too many episodes yesterday because I actually had a dream about Tina Fey last night...and she totally beat me up. Literally just sucker punched me in the face! I'm trying to figure out the meaning of this, perhaps that Tina simply does not want to be my friend...HA that can't be the reason. Maybe it means that were such good BFFs that we can get in a fight and totally still be BFFs. Yup, that's what it means. We are BFFs.

I'm headed home today for Easter, and can't wait to get some good home-cookin' and to see my doggies! Catch ya later guys!

Genavee+Zach: DC Couple's Session

I'm usually pretty quick when it comes to culling photos, but this was a difficult batch to get through. Trying to cut it down to a blogable amount was torturous. I flagged about 80% of the photos as blog worthy, which out of several hundred just wouldn't work. Genavee and Zach were AMAZING. First of all, girl can work it in front of the camera. I think I told them like eighteen times that I didn't even have to work at posing because they just hit one after the other. It came so naturally because these two are just so dern adorable.

Aside from being really, really, ridiculously good-looking, Genavee and I both have a propensity to walk out into oncoming traffic. For those you all who know me, you know that myself and traffic are not a harmonious being. And for whatever reason, when I do almost get hit, it's never by some pansy little Prius or Mini Cooper, it's usually 18-wheelers or UPS delivery trucks, the kind of vehicles that will take you out. Here's hoping we survive natural selection Genavee!

Rekha+Andrew: Northern Va Wedding

Andrew and Rekha easily have one of the most amazing families I've ever met. They had friends and relatives fly in from India, England, Latin America, and all over the U.S. I have to say I've never met such an amazing group of people. You could tell just by being in that giant ballroom that every single person there truly loved Andrew and Rekha. And how can you not? This couple is super laid back, hysterical, and so much fun to be around. Rekha, you are beyond sweet. She would check in with me periodically throughout her own wedding, just to make sure I was ok, that I had gotten something to eat (and DAMN was the food good!!!) and that I was having a good time.

Rekha and Andrew, I want to thank you guys from the very bottom of my heart for letting me photograph your day. You have no idea how much it means to me that I got to be apart of such an amazing event. I wish you guys the very best, and CONGRATS AGAIN!!!
